CAD Technician

Salary : £30K to £35K DOE

Day Shifts, Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm

Our Fabrication and welding specialist client based in Warwick is looking for a CAD Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. Due to this client being a small family feel business this will be a multi-faceted role including both designing and ordering materials where required providing variety and autonomy within the role. The idea candidate will come from a metal works / manufacturing background and be familiar with welding and fabrication processes.

Job Description:

• Assist in CAD Design: Work closely with the design team to create detailed and accurate CAD models of GRP products, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, to understand design requirements and provide input throughout the design process.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of design changes, revisions, and project progress.
• Assist in creating and updating technical drawings and design documentation.
• Learn and Apply Software Skills: Develop proficiency in CAD software — AutoCAD or Solidworks and leverage these skills to contribute effectively to design projects.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in reviewing and validating CAD Drawings / models to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Participate in design reviews and make recommendations for improvements.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in CAD design. Actively seek opportunities for professional development.
• Helping out where needed within the business IE, ordering materials for projects

Ideal Candidate:

• Ideally to come from a metal works industry background
• Need to be able to work under pressure
• Needs to be able to adapt to change
• Be able to work off own initiative
• 2D OR 3D, or any kind of CAD software is considered
