Our client who has been established for over 40 years & is located near Grantham is looking for a Structural Steelwork Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client specialises in a variety of steel products supplying a wide range of industries including Medical, Plant, Manufacturing, retail and agricultural. Their manufacturing process include fabrication & welding, paint spraying, cnc and fitting to name a few.

 

Job description:

  • Initial tender review and completion of the tender review checklist.
  • Liaising with the Responsible Welding Co-Ordinator on weld types on all jobs over 6 /8 mm fillet welds when reviewing the enquiry details.
  • Sending out enquiries to subcontractors for pricing i.e. tender designs, metal decking etc.
  • Producing Purchase Orders for subcontract tender design
  • Contacting / liaising with clients for time extensions and general information requests to enable accurate tenders to be prepared on a day to day basis.
  • Undertaking take-offs / quantifying steelwork from engineer drawings or subcontract tender design drawings.
  • Reviewing project building details, interfaces with other trades, site parameters etc.
  • Producing either a lump sum price or completed bill of quantities based on the tender drawings.
  • Typing a formal quotation to the client for the project.
  • Liaising with the Sales Director on a day to day basis with regards to reviewing enquiries, quotations and the progress of each project.
  • Chasing up / Liaising with the Clients for project and quotation feedback after submission.
  • Attending pre or post tender meetings with our clients to assist the Sales Director

 

Essential Criteria:

  • A positive attitude and approach to work
  • Good basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a friendly small team environment
  • Good organisational skills and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
