Global Medics is urgently looking for Anaesthetics Staff Specialist for a large regional tertiary referral hospital based in Victoria, Australia.
The Specialist Anaesthetists will be responsible for providing anaesthesia and related services to all interventional disciplines except Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery and Transplant Surgery.
The hospital is an accredited training site, the position’s responsibilities include teaching of anaesthetic trainees as well as other junior medical staff, medical students and nursing staff.
This 724-bed facility is an expanding regional health service offering the advantages of city life combined with the beauty and freedom that comes from living in a regional area. The organisation provides services in emergency, maternity, women’s health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, residential aged care, psychiatric care, community dental, hospice/palliative care, cardiology, cancer services and renal dialysis.
Type of contract: Full Time/Permanent

Requirements:
- AHPRA registration as specialist in Anaesthetics, or eligible to apply for such
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetics or current FANZCA report outcome assessment
- A minimum of 2 years of experience at Specialist Anaesthetist level
- Strong expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team
In December 2024, the Australian government introduced a faster registration process for qualified Anaesthetists from similar health systems.
If you have the below requirements, we'd love to speak with you. The following qualifications are eligible for the new pathway:
• Ireland: Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland (CAI) and Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST)
• United Kingdom: Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
