A leading company in the renewable energy space is seeking a dynamic an experienced Head of Business Development - Mini Grids to join their team. As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving the company's growth and expanding their market presence in the region.



Description

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing strategic business development plans to achieve company targets and objectives.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential investment opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
  • Identify economic activities, potential partnerships, and methodologies for development consideration for both Mini-Grids and Wholesale in all potential markets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and industry organisations.
  • Leading and managing a high-performing business development team, providing mentor-ship and guidance to ensure success.

Requirements:

  • Master/Bachelor of Business Administration, Economics/Political Sciences, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful business development and project management within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on the African market.
  • Proven experience with Mini Grids projects - non-negotiable.  
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and regulatory frameworks in Africa.
  • Candidate must be fluent in English and French is advantageous.
