On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Fixed Income Profit and Loss analyst for an initial 6 month contract based in London 50% remote 50% office working.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Member of a team with the purpose of producing and validating the daily PNL and PNL Explains for Exotic Trading Desks within ex-Fixed Income

As a Fixed Income Profit and Loss analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Running end of day Predict where relevant, and investigating discrepancies with the traders’ predict and understand the economic reasons justifying the P/L (market moves, new deals, strategies etc.).
  • Produce the official P&L figures, investigate the discrepancies with the expectations done the previous day and understand the economic reasons justifying the P/L (market moves, new deals, strategies etc.).
  • Review the P&L Explain in depth and correct wrong effect if no technical solution can be found to overturn the misallocation.
  • Review the Risk based market P&L and analyse differences against the P&L Explain until the gap is understood and documented.
  • Reconcile the system valuation against our calculation for specific products such as Futures and Bonds.
  • Review the cash payments expected from exotic products.
  • Assist other members of the team where required.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Broad experience working in a control function
  • Strong Profit and loss experience from within a similar institution
  • Knowledge of fixed income or similar product
  • Bachelor degree in finance, business, economics.
  • Working experience with P&L 
  • Fluent in English
  • Excel and VBA Knowledge (above average)
  • Robust and confident personality
