Intermediate QA Analyst (FOX_10661887) Toronto, Canada
Our client, an insurance company with offices in downtown Toronto, is currently seeking a QA Analyst to join their team on contract until the end of 2012, with a strong possibility of subsequent extension.
Responsibilities:
- Review requirements, release notes and designs and develop and document comprehensive test plans.
- Prepare and execute test plans, run test cases, create detailed bug reports etc.
- Develop/update and execute test cases for the new and existing projects
- Support other analysts by reviewing work and providing feedback.
- Transfer application knowledge to other team members.
- Report on testing progress, alerting development team to emerging issues and concerns.
- Assist development with reproducing defects under investigations.
- Work collaboratively within the team to develop and improve QA processes.
Technology Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience in an application development and system integration environment
- Must have experience in SQL scripts and database queries
- Knowledge or experience with:
- .NET and web development methodologies and best practices.
- Client Server applications
- MS SQL Server 2000/2005.
- MS project 2003/2007, MS office 2003
QA Skills:
- 3 to 5 years Advanced level knowledge of the software development life cycle, testing strategies, tools and QA methodologies
- 3 to 5 years Experience with QA management process including defect management and tracking
- Planning, organizing and implementing quality assurance testing effort at the specified experience level.
- Knowledge in Testing metrics for reporting purposes
- Experience creating testing strategy documentation and test plans for various test phases i.e. Functional Testing, SIT, etc.
- Must have experience in developing and executing test plans and test cases.
- Nice to have experience in scripting and executing data warehouse test scenarios
- Nice to have experience in scripting and running test sequences using automated testing tools (Quick Test Pro)
