Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communications in U.S. English.
  • The candidate should possess a minimum 6 years overall experience in project implementations.
  • Must have a proven ability to drive change, build consensus, and satisfactorily resolve conflicts.
  • Background in the Cruise Industry will be considered a plus. Experience in an environment of diverse, but related systems, platforms, and applications. Experience directing multi-million dollar budget projects will be a plus.
  • A firm level of proficiency and technical understanding of applications and systems lifecycle is necessary to fulfill the position responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus solid organization, presentation and documentation abilities, including Visio diagrams and “as-built” documentation.
  • A strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools accompanied with creativity and innovative thinking to find solutions to complex problems that can balance short and long-term objectives.
  • Understanding of change management, process improvement and organizational analysis.
  • Successful in creating a compelling, credible business case for information technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience in project leadership, communications at different levels, conflict resolution, planning, budgeting and overall organization management.
  • Global perspective and accustomed to doing business around the world and comfortable working with professionals with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong experience in technology planning, project planning, team leadership, as well as establishing and managing service measures to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Individual must be a proven change leader accustomed to working in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong business judgment, as well as a thorough understanding of technology and a demonstrated track record of delivering effective solutions and systems across multiple environments.
  • Must have strong leadership qualities, be well organized, well informed, capable of leading by
  • Influence, and able to achieve desired goals and objectives while maintaining the respect and support of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, including remotely or on ships.
  • Ability to on an average of 20% of the time. Some traveling may include cruises in our ships requiring appropriate documents for international traveling
  • Comfortable working in various project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban

Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area is required. An advance degree is highly desirable, particularly an MBA, as well as PMP or PgMP certification.

Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with the GXI leadership group, document, maintain, and enforce effective processes, procedures, and standards that work to deliver projects on time and within budget that meet planned benefits.
  • Cultivate strategic plans to further the program’s development.
  • Coordinate with leads within the program to determine strategic processes and tasks to meet the program’s long-term goals.
  • Coordinate cross-project activities, including Major milestones, Budgets, Design Requirements reconciliation with Operational Requirements
  • Manage projects towards delivery of business results and prepare organization for effective post-deployment support and measurement of benefits.
  • Ability to define and drive scope and move it forward with regular communication to the team and upper management.
  • Ability to interpret executive and project lead direction into project development.
  • Facilitate communication between Project and Functional Mgmt., establish continuity of resources between each Project phase, and resolve problems, challenges and concerns
  • Prepare written reports for leadership updates
  • Prepare staffing plans and estimates with input from internal and external project team members for all project phases
  • Establish team work plans, project priorities, schedules, and overall resource planning
  • Evaluate risks and interdependencies, within project and across projects. Mitigate risks and drive issues to resolution through effective project and program governance.
  • Setup and facilitate effective project and program governance and stakeholder communications.
  • Advise senior management concerning issues and their impact to the corporation’s business strategy.
  • Actively contribute to the operations group by providing leadership in the use of technology to further achieve efficiencies.
  • Ensure infrastructure and application support is managed effectively, with a focus on availability, serviceability, reliability and continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & TRAVEL:
  • Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary where sitting is required most of the time; walking and standing are required occasionally. Visual acuity is required to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading documents, reports and emails.
  • Travel Requirements: 10% of travel, conditional to project assignment, including working aboard our cruise ships, abroad offices, ports and shipyards. Ability to travel internationally, requiring a valid passport and work authorization for the United States.

WORK CONDITIONS:
  • The Ship Project Manager may be required to work out of various company locations, but this position will be primarily based in the Miami, FL location.
  • Work beyond normal business hours may be required occasionally to support business needs or projects.
