I am working with a client who are looking for a Power BI Developer with a strong financial services background on a 3 month initial contract in Birmingham. This client is a young, but maturing and profitable data management firm in London but you will be working on their client site in Birmingham. You will be joining a client facing team, to work on product development projects for the investment management sector.
Our client is looking for a self-starter with experience of all aspects of Power BI Development and Deployment.
You will be working within a small existing team on the backlog of reports etc.. Standard functionality in PowerBI, R and Python could be utilised at some point.
Skills
o Microsoft Data Management stack:
SQL Server 2012+ (preferably 2017)
SQL Server Integration Services
SQL Server Analysis Services
o Development skills in Microsoft SQL Server with the ability to write Microsoft advanced T-SQL
o Power BI development (desktop and online) and system administration skills (e.g. user and workspace administration)
o Knowledge of Azure Services (particularly Azure Analysis Services) and Windows Server Virtual Machines
o Strong data analysis skills – e.g. profiling and data quality investigation
o Strong Excel skills.
o Excellent communicator, confident with Clients
o Bachelors Degree in a scientific or a technical field
Desirable skills:
o Application development skills – preferably in C# (Visual Studio 2015+) or equivalent in Java; R; Linux
o Web application development skills such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5.
o Experience of financial services organisations
o Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
o Understanding of source code management.
o Fund Management experience
