An exciting opportunity to make your mark on the Homeware scene & work for one of the best FMCG companies in the South West! Reporting directly to the Product Manager, who’s responsible for their retail range, the role combines elements of Project Management, Creativity and Admin. My client’s dream candidate would be of a pro-active & self-motivated nature. You must be able to communicate clearly with all departments across the business and able to operate in a organised manner. You will be efficient in assisting the delivery of product development in a timely and cost effective manner. Key responsibilities:
• Ultimate responsibility for the successful seasonal product sourcing of defined ranges, supporting SPM/PM on defined ranges with admin heavy tasks and assisting the effective season-to-season growth of that product category with SPM/PM/APM.
• Taking briefs and managing the requirements of the account management team, satisfying demands for presentation material, mock ups, artwork and participation for customer meetings, throughout the various seasons.
• Working closely with the in-house design team, effectively briefing product artwork to generate innovative, but commercial product.
• Effective collaboration with supply base, working to achieve the very best execution of product hand in hand with maximisation of margin requirements all within the required deadlines.
• Effective communication with Technical and Production/Administration teams to ensure product can be delivered meeting agreed technical expectations, and in a timely manner to customer’s specification where required.
• Keep accurate and organised dossiers of all managed product, in line with businesses requirements.
• Attendance at Trade Shows, and on business trips both in the UK and abroad where required.
• Maintain commercial and creative awareness of the marketplace, developing expertise in the defined category.
Common Tasks:
• Day to day implementation of agreed category strategy
• Defining product specifications (materials, dimensions, print and decoration)
• Supporting SPM/PM in defined category with Admin heavy tasks where required
• Working with PIMRa product development system (Pricing / Specifications)
• Briefing creative and support teams in house and freelance (Designers, Technical Team, Copywriters, Proof Readers, Photographers)
• Extensive correspondence with Far East supply base
• Negotiation and Pricing to meet defined margin requirements
• Supporting Account Manager in key presentations to customers
