A hugely successful global UK parcel delivery business has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in the Bedfordshire area on a full time permanent basis. This is a Mon to Fri position working nights 6pm to 3am. This is truly an exciting role and a chance to join the business at a key stage of their on-going development.
As an experienced logistics professional, it is essential that you can demonstrate a proven track record of managing a very busy Depot and a work force of 200 against time critical KPI’s in a demanding, fast paced environment.
Key to your success will be in your man-management capabilities as you will be responsible for motivating the team to maintain speed, accuracy, quality and the over all customer experience. You will need to genuinely care about delivering an exceptional service and you will instil your high levels of professionalism throughout your team.
Your natural enthusiasm, passion and drive to deliver results really can not be underestimated as these are qualities that the client holds in very high regard and forms a large part in their recruitment decision making process. They are looking for individuals that not only think on their feet, but someone that can identify changes and implement improvements to the business. Whilst a hands-on mentality is important, it is your ability to delegate and manage the operation through your team, and ability to foresee issues and put into place corrective actions before they become a problem, that will be important.
