Network Specialist

Network Specialist is required for a 6-month contract-to-hire position in Monterey, CA.
Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance 

• The objective of this task is to provide network system administration support for all aspects of the FNMOC network required to ensure the robust and reliable NIPR/SIPR network necessary to ensure the 7/24/365 mission requirements.

  May perform the following work for unclassified and secret classification levels:

• Monitor Information Assurance Vulnerability Management System (IAVM) information and address day-to-day IAVM Alerts, Bulletins, and Technical Notices and Computer Tasking Orders (CTOs) open in the Vulnerability Reporting (VRAM).
• Evaluate results from local ACAS scans and provide required mediation.
• Reduce the Command's overall Information Assurance (IA) risk level through monitoring, scanning, and other security methods designed to verifying the security posture for all supported systems.
• Provide administration and support for all network related information technology systems including but not limited to: Cisco routers and switches, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco FirePOWER intrusion detection system, McAfee Sidewinder firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Nagios network analysis tools.
• Perform required maintenance to maintain all network devices through software updates, scans, and patches.
• Ensure that all network device configurations meet appropriate Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.
• Analyze and plan for anticipated network growth requirements and conducting cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and capacity studies.
• Plan, design, and implement the operational installation, configuration and maintenance of intranet, Internet, or extranet gateways and systems.
• Develop and administer contingency and disaster recovery plans.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience),

• 2-5 years of experience
• Must have and maintain a secret security clearance.
