Material and Process Engineer (G00548) Aylesbury, England
Our client is looking for a Material and Process Engineer to support the execution of their space/satellite programmes. The key aspect of this role is to control the mechanical parts, materials and processes used in high reliability satellite equipment.
Aerospace experience is not essential, we can consider candidates from defence, automotive or telecommunications.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Support project product assurance in:
Providing statements of compliance against customer parts, materials and process documentation.
Producing the parts, material and process elements of the project product assurance plan.
Verify that the design meets the customer parts, material and process requirements.
Under the direction of the project product assurance engineer:
Lead the material and process control boards.
Review and assess new materials and processes.
Generate qualification plans for new materials and processes.
Oversee all material and process verification and qualification activities.
Generate validation and qualification reports.
Generate and maintain manufacturing flow plans.
Generate and maintain assembly process documents.
Control and maintain material and process lists.
Skills / Qualifications / Requirements
Strong organisation skills
Familiar with assembly documentation
HNC/HND
Fluent English
Proficiency in MS Office packages
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience in working in the space industry would be an advantage
Capable of motivating people.
Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
Good people skills for building relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Team minded.
Self-motivated capable of working to challenging team/personal targets.
Able to work to tight deadlines.
Analytical thinking – ability to understand cause and effect.
Think ahead, be pro-active and take ownership.
Managing pressure effectively.
Good organizational skills with an ability to prioritize.
Experience using Document Management Systems and SAP would be an advantage although training will be given
